Database problem Pt v 3.09.5

So i haven't updated my PT3 in a while and decided to today. The download went fine but when it tries to update the database I keep getting this message:

Error: unable to execute quesry: alter table tourney_holdem_results ADD column val_curr_conv numeric(12,8) Default 0;; reason: fatal error (Error: column "id tourney" contains null values )

Any ideas? I cant even get into pt3 it keep going round in circles, update database -> error -> update database -> error etc until i just have to quit it.

no idea, i haven't upgraded in a long time thought, probably the best part of a year?? i actually upgraded to the 3.08.1 but got that error message I posted above so I tried getting the 3.0.9 beta and I still got the same message. this is so annoying I should have just left it.

just checked my laptop, i was updated from v3.00 build 5.1

Follow these steps to reindex your databases from the command prompt:

You can reindex your database from the PostgreSQL command prompt. Click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Command prompt. At the prompt that appears, type “reindexdb -a” and hit enter. Be aware that if you have large databases this may take a while, so be patient and wait for it to finish.
(If the re-index doesn't work because you are not logged in as user 'postgres' enter: "reindexdb -U postgres -a").

Once that completes try running PT3 again.

You can reindex your database from the PostgreSQL command prompt. Click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Command prompt. At the prompt that appears, type “reindexdb -a” and hit enter. Be aware that if you have large databases this may take a while, so be patient and wait for it to finish.
(If the re-index doesn't work because you are not logged in as user 'postgres' enter: "reindexdb -U postgres -a").

Once that completes try running PT3 again.

'reindexdb -U': option requires an argument -- U

'postgres -a': execution of postgres sql by a used with administrative permission is not permitted the server must be started under an unprivileged user ID to prevent possible system security compromises. see the documentation for more information on how to properly start the server.
