Installation bug

Hello guys,

I just bough poker tracker 3 a couple days ago, but there seems to be a problem with the installation of the database PostgreSQL. When I clicked on poker tracked for the first time, it says I need to install PostgreSQL, but then the following message appeared :

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."

What should I do to install PostgreSQL properly?

I'm using Windows XP btw.

Are you using an administrator account on your computer?

I'm really a noob in this stuff, but no I dont think so?
How can I verify that?

Click Start --> Control Panel --> User Accounts. Your account should be shown there and needs to say "Computer administrator" and not "Limited account".

Ok so after verifications I am the "computer administrator".
Should I change anything?

If you didn't already please reboot your computer and try the installer again. Alternatively you can download and install PostgreSQL manually from http://www.PostgreSQL.org/download. Kraada may well have further suggestions when he comes on later.

Try the 8.3 pgInstaller from that link - let me know how far in the installer you can get (just remember to unzip the file first, as compressed installers don't work).

Thank you for your help. I tried the link to download manually, I took that version I'm not sure if its the right one :

However, after un extracted the file and try to run it, the exact same bug occured with the same error message :

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."

Has nothing to do with PT3 or Postgres... your Windows system is corrupt. See here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315353
