Hand Imports Stall Out

Postby avlflush » Tue Feb 15, 2011 7:48 am

I'm using PT to monitor PokerStars hands. Here is the situation that I'm seeing.

I start PT and start auto import and I leave this window open.

I go to PS and sit in at a table.
I then wait a few hands until the big blind gets to me.
During this waiting period everything works fine and I can see the display in PT show each hand as it is imported.
However, once the big blind gets to me and I'm involved in the hand all data import stops.

Let me add that a few days ago I had PT running and I tried to put my computer to sleep.
PS was not running at the time.
My computer locked up and I had to power the thing down in order to turn it off.

There is a very real possibility that I corrupted something while doing this.

I do not have any critical information in my database and do not mind wiping it out or reinstalling PT if that appears to be the thing to do.

Thanks

It sounds like your hand histories are not set to save in PokerStars or that PT3 is looking in the wrong directory for them - check the Options --> Instant Hand History options to make certain that your hands are set to save, and that on the PokerStars Configuration tab in PT3 that you can see that directory listed.

Thank you, I'm working again.

Somehow the PS checkbox that shows if the hands should be saved got unchecked during my power cycle.

The reason that I did not suspect PS this is that PT appeared to be importing the hands that I was not involved in. After watching the activity in the HH folder I see that no files were written for these hands. Being a curious type person I'd be interested in getting a basic idea of what PT uses as its data source for storing hands that do not get written into the HH folder.

I've posted several questions in the various forums and have been totally happy with the quality of the answers and the promptness of the replys. Thanks again.

At PokerStars, PT3 will import up to 30 observed hands per session - this is the maximum that PokerStars will allow us to import for table selection purposes. Any more than that would contravene their Terms of Service.

Other than that, if there are no hands being written, PT3 will not be able to import any hands.
