pokertracker wont start back up

Postby bigredscot » Thu Feb 24, 2011 5:41 pm

My computer shutdown for an unknown reason to me. I dont think it was poker tracker that was the cause but when i tried to restart PT3 after the computer restart it wants me to create a database and I cant connect to my old database. This is the message im getting.

"unable to login to database (template 1). Reason: server closed the connection unexpectantly. This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request."

Hopefully theres a fix for this

That means that PostgreSQL isn't running, or can't be connected to.
Click Start (if you're in Windows XP click Run), type services.msc and hit enter. Find and attempt to start the PostgreSQL service. Does it start? If not, click Start --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Event Viewer. Go into the Accessories section in the top left panel and look in the top center panel for errors relating to PostgreSQL, you should find one there - double click it and copy and paste the error message here and that will shed a lot of light on what is going on here.
