Install Crashes on OS X

Hello,

While installing the latest update I get the following msg.

The installation failed.

The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.



This is trying to upgrade from 3.08 to 3.10.

Try rebooting your computer and then drag PokerTracker from Applications to the Trash, then run the installer again.

Rebooted computer, moved existing PT app to trash, reinstalled.

Same error msg.

Try repairing permissions via the Disk Utility - it's in Applications -> Utilities. That might fix it so that things can be installed for you.

Ok that worked, what was odd was that nothing related to PT3 or the sql db came up in the list of items to be repaired. Thanks as usual for your help.

Same thing happened to me and dragging the icon to the trash bin didn't help (despite dragging the icon to the trash bin it still remained in the applications folder too???) What did work was changing the applications folder from the icon view to the list view, double clicking the pokertracker program and selecting "move to trash". Then it disappeared from the applications folder and I was able to install the upgrade to 3.10.

Thanks for the update - I wouldn't expect the view to make any difference, but we'll bear that in mind for the future.

ANyone know anything else that works? I have tried both and I am still getting the update failed message.

You're not using a PPC Mac, or operating system from before 10.5 ("Leopard"), are you? They are not supported.

When you drag PokerTracker from Applications to the Trash, is it removed from Applications?
What exact error message are you seeing?
