PT3 databases not working

Postby NuTS_for_NiTS » Wed Jul 20, 2011 7:29 am

Hi, yesterday my PT was working perfectly fine, today I started the computer, started the PT and this came up:

"Error connecting to default database.
Please select one of the valid databases below or create a new one.
Note: It may take time for the Database List to fully populate."

All of the databases in the list are grey and I cant create a new one either. I tried turning off the firewall and installing the PT3 again (although I didnt uninstall the postgreSQL. Should I try to uninstall and reinstall the postgreSQL?

Uninstalling PostgreSQL could actually make things worse - we need to figure out what is keeping it from starting. If you click start, type services and hit enter and find PostgreSQL from the list, can you start it? If not, what error does it give when it fails to start?

Hi,

I found out that the postgresql.conf file was corrupted. Managed to restore it and now it's working.
