Can't launch PT3 (only get an oval)

Hi. I had installed PT3 a long time ago (i.e. 3 years), but the PostgreSQL installation failed at that time. Since I stopped playing, I didn't take the time to fix things. Well, I'm playing again. Since there was no postgres directory I just installed 8.3.15, apparently successfully. However, when I try to launch PT3 I get the oval PokerTracker 3 logo in the middle of my desktop, but nothing further happens. If I double-click the icon again it tells me that a version of PT3 is already running. In Task Manager it doesn't appear under Applications, but there are two entries under Processes (along with about 5 postgres entries). Windows XP SP3, and PokerTracker.exe shows a date of 12/6/2008 (although I attempted to run an update, clearly that didn't work!)

How should I proceed?

p.s. I had a PT2 database, but since those hands are 3 years old there seems to be no reason to retain that at all.

Do you have a "PokerTracker 3 (Logging Enabled)" link in your Start menu? If so, please try starting PT3 using that link - if it doesn't work still, please report this problem so that we can investigate further for you.
