Access Violation Error

Postby dirtlad » Sun Oct 30, 2011 8:34 pm

Have been getting the following error playing on PStars cash Omaha and Holdem today. Haven't noticed problems before today. Installed NoteCaddy trial a couple of days ago, but no changes since.

2011/10/30 18:25:57: PokerStars: Hand Imported (#69783366606) from Ceraskia VII
2011/10/30 18:25:57: Access violation (1) (Flags: 0; Address: 0x0060169b; EIP: 0x0060169B)(Line #7695)

Downloaded beta 3.11.5 ( just because I could). Restarting software seems to have cleared it up.

I am also constantly getting this error (and by constantly I mean every couple of seconds). With me it is lines #1916 & #2251.

Full housekeeping hasn't helped.

Is the new beta stable?

If it is always the same line numbers that suggests a single file with an error.
Enable the Move Processed Files To option in the Auto Import > Preferences and run auto import with no tables open until all of the counts stop updating and then stop it. That should move all of the old hand history files out of the way.
If you get the error again after that please attach the hand history file which causes the error to a Support ticket so that we can investigate.

Hi,

I had the same problem.

In my Hand History folder there were Hand Histories from four tables that wouldnt move after processing.

When i deleted the Hand History files from those four tables the Access Violation Error disapeared.

We sometimes see corrupt hand history files, but if you see this again please attach the offending HH files to a Support ticket so that we can investigate.

Finally got around to trying this after my HUD also stopped working (mainly play on Stars). It wasn't really affecting anything else much afaik. It didn't work.

You're going to tell me to upgrade to the beta aren't you :o

In which case another question.

Do I have to go through all of that Disable User Account Control - Reboot - Enable User Account Control shenanigans again, or can I just download, run the install (as administrator) and keep calm and carry on?

You can just download and install. There's no need to mess with UAC at all.
