I would like to first make it clear once again that 888 broke support. We cannot control or anticipate what 888 does, it was their decision to act on their own.

Will it be fixed at PT3?
It will be fixed for 888, but we only release fixes once a month on average for PT3 at this stage, and ONLY fixes. We are no longer developing new things for PokerTracker 3, all of our new technology has moved to PT4 therefore we can only address fixes if the issue can be patched. This means all work is done on PokerTracker 4 and then if we discover that we can retroactively apply it to PT3 we will do so. If the issue requires new technology then I am afraid that PT4 will be the only option going forward (this is not the case for the current 888 issue but it may become an issue in the future). This is a standard policy for the software industry and it is not new to PokerTracker either.. the same policy was in effect when switching from PT2 to PT3, we cannot hold technology back for the minority of our customers who do not want to move forward.
GreyNW wrote:Please make a fix for PT3 too because I'm not using PT4 and I'm not going to.
Also I believe that there are many other players who prefer PT3 to PT4.
We have found precisely two so far even though our customers exceed the hundreds of thousands, you are now the third customer who wants to stay with PT3 (4th is below - strange coincidence!) ;-) I can assure you that you are in the minority, the majority of those remaining on PokerTracker 3 are OSX users who are waiting for us to release PT4 for OSX (in 1-2 months a public beta is expected to be ready). We plan to continue to release patches to address PokerTracker 3 issues ever month or two for the next 1.5 years, at that time we will begin to ramp down support for PT3.
thebabyfaceassasin wrote:Okay first things first thanks for the reply, your are the only representative who has bothered.
Not true, there are numerous posts in this forum providing insight into the 888 issue.
thebabyfaceassasin wrote:Secondly i do not wan to upgrade, i want to use Poker traker V3.13.12 on poker 888 as advertised, emphasis on advertised.
PT3 was advertised to support 888 at that time of purchase, provided that 888 allows us to support their software (that could change, anything is possible). All updates are free, you do not pay for the updates, updates are not something that you purchased. With that said, we will add support to fix this issue when we have the time to do so, at this stage all of our focus is on releasing PokerTracker 4 for OSX because that is what the majority of our users have told us they want, and we intend to deliver what they asked for.
thebabyfaceassasin wrote:Please respond with ETA of when the issue is likely to be fixed, if this is going to take some time then i believe that compensation will be due.
Please read the EULA next time you install a PokerTracker 3 update, this will give you some insight into your rights as a customer for updates, this is all very clear in the contract to make sure that everyone's rights are clearly defined and there are no misunderstandings about rights. One of the components to the EULA explains that we are not held accountable for changes made by networks. If you disagree with the changes 888 made, then you are free to contact them with a complaint. As for the ETA, the only thing we can offer is within a month, it depends on many other developmental issues. The sooner the better we agree, but we cannot make promises.
thebabyfaceassasin wrote:I don't mean to be rude but the fact know one has even bothered to inform me of the changes or respond to my numerous email is quite frustrating.
We never received an email from you, I know this for a fact because we do not have an email support system in place - all support requests are handled via our web automated solution so we can properly track your issue and follow the history. If a very rare email was sent, then it would have ended up on my desk, yet I never saw anything about 888... we did however get quite a few posts in this forum and elsewhere, as well as a few support tickets via our web interface. IF you were sending emails, they never arrived to us - that would explain why you never got an answer before now. And as I stated above we have in fact posted in various 888 related threads quite regularly giving updates - we have never once hidden the fact that PT3 will receive an update after work for PT4 was completed.
If you are a PT3 user who purchase PokerTracker 3 after Jun 10 2011, then you get to upgrade to PokerTracker 4 for free. This assures you are using the latest technology, and it doesn't cost you a penny to make the switch. If you purchased PokerTracker 3 prior to that date, you can still upgrade with a 70% off discount until November 25th, there are only a few days left before this discount ends, a wise player would take that option immediately to assure their software remains in compliance with future changes rolled out by the poker networks.
side note - 888 support for PT4 is once again broken, 888 released yet another update yesterday making the majority of my post above a moot point. We are working to release a new fix for PT4 as soon as we can, but it is possible that 888 releases yet another change that breaks PT4 before we get to roll these changes down to PT3. This is of course out of our control, there is nothing we can do if that occurs.
