To my knowledge, there is no software that you can purchase once and expect for it to be supported and maintained for life. It has been five years since PT2 was released. That is a pretty long time in the software industry without charging to upgrade and hopefully we will not need to do it again for another 5 years :)

No one is forcing you to upgrade. Name any product worth anything that you get free upgrades when a major revision is made?
