With PT closed, copy that file, ptrack.mdb AND the hhdb.mdb file from the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder and put them into another folder for safe keeping.

Now, use the Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs window to uninstall PT.

Reinstall PT...
http://www.pokertracker3.com/products/PTH/download.php

Copy the ptrack and hhdb.mdb file from the folder you put them in and put them back in the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder replacing the ones put there by the install program.

See if you can open the replayer now.

If so, send me a PM with the new product ID from the Help/About Poker Tracker window and I'll send you a new code.

[quote="ptrack pat"7hl]Use the Reset Replayer Window Position option under the window menu in Poker Tracker.[/quote7hl]
Thank you... This was driving me nutz and I did not want to have to re-install!

Firstly i apologise for taking so long to reply.

when i saw your instructions i was worried i may lose all my hand history so i didn't try it. lately i've really missed being able to replay hands so i followed your instructions.
i have re-installed PT and put the files back in to replace the new ones. i started up PT and my hands were all succesfully back in.
however the problem is still there. it just freezes the screen up.
obviously i would like your advice on how to put this right but i also need to know that i can still use this new version of PT2 that i have installed, to track my stats as i continue to play. will i need a new code for it to work correctly? if so, here is the new product ID : 2EFB-38D5.

i'd like to keep using PT while we try to resolve this other issue.

thanks again

I sent you a PM with the new code.

In the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder, what are the sizes of the files ptrack.mdb and hhdb.mdb ?

thank you for the reply.
i haven't used the new code yet as my PT still seems to be working but if i get a problem i'll use it.

the ptrack.mdb is 1.86 GB
the hhdb.mdb is 738 MB

Since your db is so large I would recommend converting to PostgreSQL to see if you can use the replayer after that. There may be some kind of index problem/corruption with the Access db that is causing this kind of issue.

PostgreSQL conversion directions...

i'm afraid i am completely lost now.
i went to the link to download this SQL thing. i had a page full of country flags and something about 'mirrors'. i went to the UK flag and downloaded something. when this was complete i went to the PT utilities postgresql settings window. i entered the username and password that i used when i registered for PT ( i don't know if this is what it is asking for) and now i have to enter an 'ODBC entry to use'.
i'm afraid i have no idea what i have to do now

i apologise for my stupidity

You need to do more than download the file. Follow the directions for installing PostgreSQL
http://www.pokertracker.com/products/PT ... nstallSQL2

Then do the steps in the "After PostgreSQL is installed" section
