Importing entire Stars history

Postby Matthew Sanford » Wed Apr 30, 2008 11:53 am

I just bought PT recently but I have been playing on Pokerstars for years. I contacted Stars and they notified me that they could send me the hand history for every hand I've ever played. I believe this comes in a text file that lists the hands as shown below:

Can I simply copy the file into Pokertracker in this manner or will the "Hand #1", "Hand #2" part mess up the database? If I can copy and paste the entire hand history in this format please let me know how to go about that. I would really like to have my lifetime stats in PokerTracker. Thank you.

You should be able to import the file using the File > Import Hand Histories/Tournament Summaries window, Select Files To Import button.

If the file is very large, over 1000 hands then I suggest you use the Utilities > File Splitter window to split the file into smaller files and import from the smaller files.

Thanks for the quick response. Also if I get my entire hand history and import it will PokerTracker count the hands that are already in the database (i.e. the hands that I have played since I purchased PT) twice? In other words do I have to remove the hands that PokerTracker has already counted or should I just clear the database first?

PT will not import the same hand more than once, it will skip a file if it's already in your database.

Similar question. Is there a shorter way of uploading the summaries? I'm currently using Yahoo mail, and I have to go through several steps to download and save the summaries into notepad, then upload them w/ PT. With over 500 tournaments played, this is alot of work.

Change to an email that allows POP3 like GMAIL so that you can use the POP3 option of the File > Import Hand Histories/Tournament Summaries window to have PT download and import the emails directly from the mail server.
