Boss/IPN network - problems getting started

Postby Sir Snag A Lot » Thu Apr 30, 2009 3:01 pm

I am having trouble configuring my PT 2 software to import hands for the first time. When I click - Help - Getting Started - a list of details for setting up for many sites/networks comes up, but there is no info for the Boss/IPN network. When I try to do it without instructions and click the Auto Import Boss... tab in PT2 I am directed to select the folder which hand histories are written to, but there is no obvious location for this. Is this something that I need to do on the poker site software itself? Any help would be appreciated.

If there is no reference to Boss Media in the Getting Started page you need to get the latest patch and help files (separate help files link at the bottom of the page)...

Maybe I am crazy, but I still can't get this to work. I have upgraded to PT2 v.2.17.03j and am also running PTO v. 1.13.04. When I click the Getting Started tab on either I do not get any info about Boss. I will include these here.

Requesting Hand Histories

The first thing you need to do is gather some hand histories together. You can request hand histories from the following sites:

Paradise - from the lobby window, go to the Options menu and select Request Hand Histories. On the window that opens, you can choose to have your last xx hands emailed to you or you can request a specific hand number. The maximum number they will send at one time is 100. Enter the number of hands you want (or the game number) and click the OK button. You will be prompted telling you the email has been sent. Poker Tracker can be setup to automatically request your hand histories for you on a timed basis so that you don't have to remember to request them each time, click here for details on doing this. Once the emails are sent, you can use this import window to read the hand histories from your email or read the files you have manually created if your emails are sent to a non-POP3 type email address.

Importing Hand Histories

The first thing you need to do is to load your database with your hand histories. Poker Tracker parses the hand history text provided by the poker site and imports the statistics into your database. Most sites store these hand histories in files on your computer. Other sites require you to request the hand histories to be sent in an email message. See below for details on how to obtain and import hand histories from the site you are playing at.

Paradise - from the lobby window, go to the Options menu and select Request Hand Histories. On the window that opens, you can choose to have your last xx hands emailed to you or you can request a specific hand number. The maximum number they will send at one time is 100.
