UB import error &(dumb) auto-import question

Postby Myc0 » Thu Mar 27, 2008 11:18 pm

Hi, I'm totally new to PT & am still trying to get it figured out  . I'm running PT 2.17.01g, and I'm playing on Ultimate Bet. I have a question about an error message I've been getting. I opened Import Hand Histories/Tournament Summaries, clicked on the select file(s) to import button, and selected the text files that Ultimate Bet saves to my UB hand history folder. It said there was an error, so I looked at the error log display, which had several error messages from the import that said: "Game #42090210-666 was not played." Then I tried doing the same thing again, and it said it was successful, but it said 0 hands were imported because they are already in the database. I'm also using(or trying to) PokerAce HUD, so in PT's auto-import UB hand history settings I set the hand history folder location to the folder that PA-HUD saves them to. I tried doing the manual import of the hand histories that UB saved just in case(?). So, were the hands already in the database from the auto-import, or did the first manual import work? Why did it give me the "hand not played" error messages? I think I was just an observer on some of those tables, is that why I got the "hand not played" messages, and why would that be an error?

And my other(dumb) question: Do I need to leave the auto-import window open while playing , or do I just start the timer and close it? I know I'm doing something wrong because I am only getting stats on PA-HUD for one, if any of the people at the table, and I was wondering if it is because I'm not using the auto-import correctly?

With UB, if a hand starts but the blinds don't post then the hand isn't played. But then if more people sit down and another hand starts up, it starts with the same game # as the previous one that wasn't played. So when you first import the file, it gives the error with the first hand but then it imports the same hand # which was eventually played later. So when you go to reimport the file, it doesn't give the error again because that hand is already in the database so it skips over it.

You need to open the auto-import window and start the timer and leave the window open. If you close it then it's not going to import anything.

If you are having issues with PokerAce not recording all of the hands (i.e. if you import the hands that UB stores and it does import some more hands) then you would want to post this problem on the PokerAce forum above.

Thanks Pat, I appreciate the prompt response and clarification, keep up the good work!

P.S. - I posted about my issues with PA-HUD in the corresponding forum, and am in the process of getting that figured out.
