One step compact

I did a one step compact and everything is now gone. Where did it go? Am I not suppose to do this?

You probably have not been running PT as administrator every time you open it.

Go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder. Are there files called ptrack_backup.mdb and hhcopy.mdb there? If so, what are the sizes and date/times of these files?

Now click the Compatibility Files link/button. Are there any MDB files in that folder? If so, what are there names, sizes and date/times?

I dont see the files as listed in the folder. Under the compatibility files here is what is listed

I am not worried about the lost info if it is lost as I did not have much on here yet and I can get the tournament summaries again.
My concern is what to do in the future. I did not know I needed to open as admin every time. I thought it was just for the
first time. Should I just not compact from now on or will this cause a problem it the database gets to big.

It needs to be run as administrator every time, there were a number of popup messages when you first ran and registered the program on Vista that stated this.

If you alway run it this way there should be no future problems.

With PT closed, copy the ptrack_backup.mdb and hhcopy.mdb from the comp. files folder to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder.

Rename the files, if they exist, ptrack.mdb and hhdb.mdb to ptrack_old.mdb and hhold.mdb

Then rename the ptrack_backup.mdb file to ptrack.mdb and hhcopy.mdb to hhdb.mdb

Run PT as admin. now and you should see your data again.
