PT2 will not start anymore after upgrade

Upgraded from PT v 2.1603d to 2.17.02 and Poker Tracker will not start anymore. The task is running in the joblist (or rather there are two tasks ptrack2.exe) consuming 99% CPU, but no PT starts up. I also had this problem 4 months ago when I tried to upgrade and had to go back to old version and wanted to try again now. I have also uninstalled and re-installed, and rebooted the machine (running Windows XP) . Thought it might be Language settings and have tried to run it in US English and UK English but it will still not start up. Any suggestions ?

Did you install while PT2 was running?
Did you try stopping both ptrack2.exe instances with Task Manager and then run PT2?
If that doesn't work, make sure there are no ptrack2.exe's running, then re-install.

No PT was not running when I installed or upgraded. If I close one of the two ptrack2.exe tasks in the joblist, both die. One task uses 2316 KB memory, but uses no CPU, the other uses 1824 KB and used 98-99%. I have to close them down, since the machine can do not other work while they are looping. Renstalling does not help. I may have to do what I did 4 months ago, try to reinstall an old version. Is it correct there should be two tasks running normally ?

Yes, thx,. I have looked at that link already. I have now installed, de-reinstalled, reinstalled and booted many times changing language settings, but PT2 will still not load. When you click the start-Icon, no messages , nothing happens, but you can see two tasks in the taskmanager, one of which is eating 99% of CPU. Maybe I should try to go back to the old v 2.16 again, and see whether that works and wait for PT3 to go into production.
