I'm pretty sure this was in PT3, right in the tourney results listing, but I can't find it now.

Looking for three numbers...

total time played
avg time per match
$/hr

Due to the changes to the database necessitated for PT4, those statistics are considerably more complicated to build in 4 than they were in 3. They are on our list to build, though, they just haven't been done yet.

Not yet - there is a date_played field in the following tables:
tourney_hand_summary (for individual hands)
tourney_hand_player_statistics table (again for individual hands)
date_start and date_end in tourney_summary (for the entire tournament)
date_start and date_end in tourney_results (again for the entire tournament)

A respectful thought here, tho; the amount of time played and time/match is a very, very basic bit of information that is decidedly non-trivial for a poker player. IMO it should be one of the very first things on your list to do.

I worked with MySQL and PostgreSQL for a few years, way out of practice (which is probably obvious) but I can't imagine how this would be a difficult thing to calculate, regardless of how a DB is structured.

Maybe I'm wrong there but having to use two managers, and perform two imports, to get this one fundamental piece of data, is disappointing.

Don't get me wrong, I think PT4 is the shiz, but...

The problem is that the statistics in PT4 all exist as a summation of hands - this makes it difficult specifically for tournaments when you want to build statistics that are based on data collected at the tournament level.

We can certainly do it as a straight SQL query - the problem is fitting it into our existing system (and changing the system to fit that one query is a very non-trivial change).

Well, as a sort of stop-gap, would we be able to get an SQL query that would provide total time played between two dates so that we can run it out-of-band?

While running a query directly isn't my idea of a fix, it can get me by for the short-to-mid term.
